Player Spotlight: Tylyn Thurman

Tylyn Thurman is a sophomore women's basketball player at Seminole State College. Thurman
is a 5'5'' guard and wears the jersey number 21. This season, Thurman has played in twenty-two
games while starting five of those games. She has played a total of 22 minutes this season while
scoring 93 points with 20 of those points being 3 pointers, 11 steals, 28 assists, and 29 rebounds.
In her freshman year, Thurman played in twenty-nine games with two of those games getting to
start. She scored 90 points, 23 steals, 26 assists, and 50 rebounds. She played a total of 29
minutes in her freshman season.


Tylyn Thurman is from Shawnee, Oklahoma where she attended Shawnee High School. At
Seminole State she is majoring in Health Science and is interested in ultrasound because she
wants to work in the medical field and help people. In her free time, Thurman loves traveling and
staying connected to culture and seeing new places. Something that a lot of people may not know
about her is that she loves attending powwows in her free time. When asked what made her
choose Seminole State College, Thurman said, "I chose SSC because I connected well with the
team. It felt like a place I could grow both on and off the court."
